Chiba, Kurtt Goals Keep Warriors Unbeaten

SCC

Burlington, Iowa -- First-half goals by Kiri Chiba and Miranda Kurtt and shutout goalkeeping by Elani Mears allowed Indian Hills to maintain its undefeated record on Wednesday.  The Warriors got the two goals in the opening period and used a tenacious defense to knock off Southeastern CC, 2-0, to push their season mark to 5-0.

Chiba scored about 20 minutes into the match, with Madison L. Meyer getting an assist on the afternoon's first goal and her first of the season.  Chiba set up the second score 20 minutes later with a corner kick, Kurtt redirecting the ball into the net for her third goal this fall.  Chiba's assist was her team-leading fourth.

Mears made those goals stand up, stopping six BlackHawks shots on goal in posting her second shutout in a row.

Indian Hills will host Heartland (Ill.) CC at 1:00 Saturday afternoon at the IHCC field.
