Warriors, Lakers Battle to 1-1 Tie

Iowa Lakes

Spencer, Iowa -- Each team could muster only one goal in 90 minutes of regulation time and two overtime periods and so Indian Hills and Iowa Lakes had to settle for a 1-1 tie in ICCAC action on Saturday.

Julie Gouilliart got IHCC on the scoreboard first with her fifth goal of the season, assisted by Kiri Chiba, in the 41st minute.  Iowa Lakes scored a tying goal, an unassisted tally by Bruna Kruschewsky, three minutes later and neither team was able to score after that as the defenses took over.

Indian Hills keeper Elani Mears had to make only three saves, while Daina Brazier had seven saves for ILCC.

The result puts the Warriors at 9-0-1 for the season with a home date against Southeastern coming up this Wednesday.  After that, they will play three straight road contests, culminating in a trip to Council Bluffs to take on conference leader Iowa Western on Oct. 9.
