Des Moines, Iowa-- Tyarra English-Paulson competed in her first outdoor meet after suffering a concussion that sidelined her for two full weeks. The three time indoor national qualifier did not let this deter her from her goal of qualifying for nationals in her first meet back. English-Paulson lined up in her signature event, the 400m hurdles. The freshman from Minnesota clocked in at 1:04.65, winning her heat by five seconds, obliterating the school record and easily surpassing the national qualifying standard (1:06.80). Her time currently ranks seventh in the NJCAA.

Peyton Coffin continued her impressive streak of 200m and 400m races. Coffin ran her second fastest times ever in both events, finishing fourth in the 200m (26.64) and fourth in the 400m (58.99). Ashlyn Elmore competed in the 800m run, clocking in at 2:44.31.

The women's team also saw significant success in the field events. Matana Munday competed in the discus, earning a fifth place finish with a toss of 34.82m. Shalandra Shilling notched a third place finish in the high jump, 1.53m.

The women's track and field team will head to one of the nation's most prestigious meets next week. Those who qualify will travel to Lawrence, Kansas Thursday, April 19 through Saturday April, 21st to compete in the Kansas Relays.
