Warrior Women Take Part in Kip Janvrin Open

Indianola, Iowa-- The women's track and field team competed in their final regular season meet Thursday, April 26th and Friday, April 27th at the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College. Four time national qualifer, Tyarra English-Paulson, headlined the meet with an impressive 1:03.81 finish in the 400m hurdles. This mark breaks her previous school record and currently ranks her seventh in the nation. English-Paulson also made her collegiate debut in the 100m, posting an impressive 12.57 mark, finishing seventh and obliterating the previous record by over .60 seconds.

Peyton Coffin finished her last regular season meet as a Warrior with a new personal best time in the 200m. Coffin ran 26.34, improving her previous best by over .25 seconds. The sophomore also competed in the 400m, taking tenth in a time of 1:00.60. Matana Munday had an eleventh place showing in the women's shot put (10.02m) and a twelfth place effort in the discus (35.22m). Shalandra Shilling rounded out the women's field events. Shilling cleared 1.48m, earning eighth place overall.

The women's track and field team will now gear up for post season as they head to Council Bluffs, Iowa Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th to compete in the Region XI Championships hosted by Iowa Western.
