Hobbs, New Mexico -- The Indian Hills women's track and field team earned the best finish in a national meet in program history at the national meet and set three new school records as they ended the outdoor season at the NJCAA National Championship.
IHCC All-American Tyarra English-Paulson, on the first night of the national meet, showed why she was one of the favorites heading into the 400 meter hurdles. She dominated her heat, winning with a time of 1:03.90. English-Paulson headed into Saturday's finals ranked second, just a half-second behind the leader.
MyKedra Craig ended her season on a great note in the women's 100 meter prelims on Friday. Craig ran a new school record time of 12.23 seconds, placing 22nd overall. Halley Wilmes finished 21st in the women's 800 meter run. The women's 4x400m relay squad also placed 9th in the prelims, advancing to the finals on Saturday.
Day three of the national meet was a solid finale for the IHCC women's team.
Tyarra English-Paulson capped off her Indian Hills career with a second place finish in the 400 meter hurdles. Her time of 1:01.86 shattered her school record. English-Paulson will go down as the most decorated female athlete in program history. The 4x400 meter relay unit of Dyashia Colvin, English-Paulson, Wilmes and Ashley Miller ran in the final event of the day. The Warrior women ran an outdoor school record time of 4:07.12, finishing ninth overall.
