Warriors Fall in 3 Sets at IWCC

Council Bluffs, Iowa -- No. 4 ranked Iowa Western broke away late in every set to sweep 17th-ranked Indian Hills in a Region XI match on Wednesday night. The Reivers won the battle of nationally-ranked squads by taking the three sets, 25-17, 25-19 and 25-19.

It was 15-14 in the opening set before Iowa Western scored four consecutive points to open up some breating room. In set two, the Reivers went on a 4-0 run to take control midway through the set. And it was five straight points in the final set that enabled Iowa Western to complete the 3-0 win.

The two region foes will have a regular-season rematch when Iowa Western visits the Hellyer Center on Oct. 11.

Indian Hills will play three home matches next week. The Warriors will host the William Penn JV and Grand View JV on Monday in a triangular, then will take on Carl Sandburg (Ill.) on Wednesday.
