Indian Hills Rolls Twice

Ottumwa -- Winning all six sets, Indian Hills swept the visiting junior varsity squads from William Penn and Grand View on Monday. The Warriors blitzed William Penn 25-14, 25-22 and 25-14, before rolling over Grand View 25-12, 25-16 and 25-18.

The two victories push the Warriors' season record to 11-3

Coach Lyndsey Michel used nearly the entire roster in the two matches. Against William Penn, Mackenzie Lauer led the way with 11 kills and Marisa Pope added nine. Pope also had 14 digs, second on the team to Caitlin Langlands' 18 digs. Bobbi Jo Paper was credited with 32 assists and Talita Oliveira had five blocks.

Bailey Darnall had a team-high 12 kills in the second match. Chen Shenglan slammed nine kills. And setter Yanjiao Zhao had 39 assists and was one of three Warriors with double digits in digs -- she had a dozen and Shenglan and Camila Nicoletti each had 10.

Carl Sandburg comes to the Hellyer Center for the Warriors' next action on Wednesday night.
