Warrior Netters Dominate MCC

Ottumwa -- The 17th-ranked Indian Hills volleyball team played at a pace in Wednesday's home match with Marshalltown CC that indicated the Warriors had a bus to catch. Actually, they did have to get on the bus -- but not until 5:00 on Thursday morning, for a trip to a weekend tournament in Texas. Indian Hills still didn't waste any time though in sweeping MCC, 25-9, 25-14 and 25-6 at the Hellyer Center.

The match got off to an even start, with the Warriors and TIgers tied at 6-all in the opening set. From there IHCC raced away from the visitors, outscoring them 19-3 to close out the first set and completely dominating the final set. The Warriors, with a season record of 17-3, have lost only five sets in their 17 match wins.

Indian Hills takes its second eight-match winning streak of the season into the Tyler Junior College Invitational, where the Warriors will play four matches, all against teams that are currently rated or were ranked earlier in the season. Indian Hills will battle Hutchinson (Kans.) and San Jacinto (Tex.) on Friday, then goes up against Blinn (Tex.) and the host Apaches on Saturday.
