Revenge! Warriors Knock Off Jefferson

Hillsboro, Missouri -- The No. 12-rated Indian Hills volleyball team has only lost three matches this year, and Wednesday night they took advantage of the opportunity to avenge one of those defeats, defeating 8th-ranked Jefferson (Mo.) College, 25-21, 25-16, 25-19. The sweep gives the Warriors (22-3) a 13-match winning streak and some payback for the Vikings' 3-0 win at the Hellyer Center on Sept. 9. It was only the 3rd loss for Jefferson.

"We were loaded with offense from all spots tonight, especially out of the back row," was IHCC coach Lyndsey Michel's assessment of the match. "Our offense coming from different areas plagued Jefferson. Our block came to life big time and forced their offense to slow down and it took them out of their system. We had great defensive efforts out of our back row as well."

Bailey Darnall continued her sterling play of late, pacing the Warriors with 13 kills, a .414 hitting percentage and five service aces. The sophomore also had 10 digs. Antonija Ivanovic led IHCC with 13 digs.

Indian Hills is scheduled to take on DII No. 1-rated Parkland (Ill.) and Rochester CTC this Saturday in a tournament hosted by DMACC. Defending national champ Parkland is 29-1, their only loss administered by the Warriors in five sets in a late-August tourney at the Wisconsin Dells.
