20 Straight W's for IHCC Volleyball

Ottumwa -- The Indian Hills volleyball team ran its winning streak to 20 on Saturday when the Warriors won both matches at a quadrangular it hosted at the Hellyer Center. First, IHCC took care of Highland (Kans.) CC in four sets. Then, the Warriors dismantled the William Penn JV in three.

Indian Hills is now 29-3 and likely to move up from the No. 10 ranking it gained earlier in the week after knocking off fourth-ranked Iowa Western on Tuesday.

The only blip in the quadrangular came in the second set against Highland, which the Warriors dropped 25-23. They held off the Scotties in the next set, 25-22, and then closed them out, 25-13.

Camila Nicoletti led the IHCC attack with 19 kills, supported by a dozen by Bailey Darnall. Antonija Ivanovic had 17 digs and setter Yanjiao Zhao had 16.

Against the William Penn JV, a trio of Warriors -- Jessica Da Silva, Mackenzie Lauer and Nicoletti -- each had 12 kills. Bobbi Jo Paper ran the offense and was credited with 36 assists. Bailey Zoss had a team-high 18 digs and Paper had 10.

IHCC plays a regional match at Marshalltown CC on Wednesday.
