Warrior Volleyball Ties School Record

Fort Dodge, Iowa -- With 3-0 decisions against North Platte (Neb.) and Carl Sandburg (Ill.) on Friday, in the Iowa Central invitational, Indian Hills equaled the school record for consecutive match wins with their 22nd and 23rd straight victories. The Warriors, who haven't lost since Sept. 14, have 32 wins for the season and 22 of them have been straight-set results.

It was an IHCC team that was playing without two starters, but got contributions from up and down the lineup in taking care of its latest two victims.

In the North Platte match, Camila Nicoletti and Mackenzie Lauer led the attack with 11 kills each and Nicoletti added eight digs and three service aces. Marisa Pope provided a big spark with eight aces and Bailey Zoss had a team-high 11 digs. "It was an outstanding effort as we filled some major holes in our lineup with Antonija Ivanovic and Bailey Darnall not being able to play," said IHCC coach Lyndsey Michel, noting that the two starters will be out for some time. "Mackenzie Lauer stepped up for the outside attack and did a great job while Bailey Zoss seamlessly kept our defensive efforts alive."

Nicoletti came back with 15 kills and a .536 hitting percentage in the Carl Sandburg match. Lauer added nine kills and six blocks, Zoss had 11 more digs, and Chen Shenglan also had 11 digs as the Warriors improved to 32-3. "We were able to get everyone in the lineup," Michel stated, "to help Indian Hills seal the deal to tie the program's consecutive win record. Nicoletti was quite dependable, as always. She was forceful from the front row and then the back row."

The Warriors have three regular-season matches remaining. They will play at Kirkwood on Tuesday night and at DMACC on Thursday before returning home to take on Southeastern on Oct. 31.
