Ottumwa -- The Indian Hills volleyball team placed 13 student-athletes on the fall 2016 Academic All-Region team released by the conference office. Seven of the Warriors honored were on the first team made up of those with a grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0. Six were named to the second team, for GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49.

On the first team were Bobbi Jo Paper, Caitlin Langlands, Chen Shenglan, Iva Popovic, Lauren Galvin, Mackenzie Lauer and Raegan Moeller. Antonija Ivanovic, Bailey Zoss, Marisa Pope, Talita Oliveira, Yanjiao Zhao and Yelyzaveta Sharkova earned second team recognition.

Indian Hills had a total of 81 student-athletes on either the first or second team academic honor list. That's nearly 60 percent of all the individuals on fall rosters.
