Warriors Grind Out Win Over Marshalltown

VB Vs. MCC

Ottumwa --  A slow start turned into a conference victory for the Indian Hills volleyball team on Wednesday night at the Hellyer Center.  The Warriors dropped the first set to the Tigers, then came back to win the next three sets and the match.  But it wasn't easy.  The Warriors outlasted MCC in sets 3 and 4, 25-21 and 25-23.  The lost the opening set 25-22, then won 25-11, the only set that didn't go to the wire.

IHCC got off to a quick start in the first set against an MCC squad they already owned a 3-0 win against.  The Warriors were up by four points right away, then saw the Tigers come back for the win.  IHCC ran off five straight points in set two and won handily.  However, they had to overcome a 14-11 deficit in the next set and trailed 23-22 in the fourth before ending it with three straight points.  A winner by sophomore Camila Nicoletti secured the victory after she had given Indian Hills a brief 22-21 advantage.

The Warriors, now 24-13, have home matches against Ellsworth (Monday) and Northeast Nebraska (Thursday) next week.
