Former Warrior Merseli Going to the Beach

Merseli

Ottumwa -- Former Indian Hills volleyball standout Tamera Merseli has shown how effective she can be playing indoors; now she'll get a chance to prove that she can also excel in the sand.  Merseli, a two-time all-region and All-American choice during her two seasons with the Warriors, followed that up with two more strong years at the University of North Dakota, graduating from UND earlier this year.

Merseli will now take advantage of the NCAA's graduate transfer rule and play a season of beach volleyball for the University of Louisiana Monroe.  At ULM she will be eligible to compete in the spring 2019 season.

Nearly a hundred schools sponsor varsity beach volleyball which is recognized by the NCAA as an emerging sport for women with schools allowed to grant athletic scholarships.

Merseli, a native of Belgrade, Serbia, was honorable mention All-American as a freshman at IHCC and second-team the next year.  She finished her two years 4th in kills for her career and 5th for a single season.
