Warriors Grab Impressive Road Win at Iowa Western

Iowa Western

Council Bluffs, Iowa -- What a way to end the regular season schedule!  Indian Hills had a chance to avenge one of its three losses with a road victory against Iowa Western.  And that's exactly what the 6th-ranked Warriors accomplished.  IHCC took down the Reivers in straight sets, winning 25-23, 26-24, 25-20, to extend their late-season win streak to 15 matches, one shy of the 16 in a row they won to begin the year.

The victory also allowed IHCC to tie the Reivers atop the conference standings, each school going 3-1 in the league.

Mariana Rodrigues paced the Warriors with her 11 kills and she tied teammate Cassia Lemos with 12 digs.  Amanda Toyota had 11 digs and Lemos chipped in 29 assists.  Indian Hills got a nice contribution from Nikoleta Kandic, who was in on four blocks and had three ace serves, the same number of aces as Toyota.

After winning the first set, Indian Hills rallied in set two after trailing 22-14.  The winners ran off the last six points in the middle set, then closed out IWCC in the next one.

Indian Hills will enter postseason play in the district tournament next month with a 33-3 record.
