Peyton Crosser, a former Indian Hills and Ottumwa High School standout, has returned to IHCC to work with the volleyball program and in student advising.  Crosser was hired in the summer of 2017 to assist head coach Lyndsey Michel with the Warrior volleyball team.

The new assistant spent this past summer as an athletic department intern at Iowa State University, a position that she said allowed her to see how ISU does their advising for student-athletes.  She will also act as an academic advisor on the IHCC Ottumwa campus.

After contributing to the success of the OHS and Indian Hills programs Crosser went on to play two seasons at Western Illinois University where she was a starter and team captain.  She says from a coaching standpoint WIU prepared her very well for her current position as she was able to play against some of the top teams at the NCAA Division I level and gain experience through working with different coaches with different coaching styles.  Crosser earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a minor in Management from WIU and then obtained a master’s degree in Sports Management from the Macomb, Ill., school. While in graduate school at Western Illinois she acted as a graduate assistant in the athletic services office while finishing work on her master's degree.

Crosser is still in the record books at Indian Hills in the top five for blocks for a single season and career and was on teams that compiled a record of 49-35 over two seasons.  “Indian Hills was home for me as a student-athlete and I am grateful to have it be my home again as I begin my career,” Crosser said.
