Council Bluffs, Iowa -- Freshman Kaylee Ford led the way as the Indian Hills women's cross country team opened its fall season at the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Pre-Regional on Saturday. Ford turned in a time of 20:56.85 over the 5K course to finish in 11th place. She narrowly missed a top-ten placing, coming in less than a second behind the 10th-place runner.
Sophomore Amanda Wakelin was the next finisher for IHCC, running 23:08.16 for 24th place. She was followed by another soph, Emelia Keith, who was 29th in 23:38.49, and freshman Traci Ervin, who ran 27:16.75 to finish 36th.
The Warriors will run in the Dutch Invite in Pella on Friday, Sept. 1.
