Fort Dodge, Iowa -- Running in temperatures that didn't quite reach 40 degrees, the Indian Hills women's cross country team finished 5th in the Region XI Championships on Sunday.  The course was at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course with eight ICCAC squads participating. 

Leading the Indian Hills competitors was sophomore Amanda Wakelin, who finished 16th in a time of 20:57.4.  Next was Vanessa Blanco in 21:28.4, good for 22nd place.

IHCC's Kaylee Ford and Ashlyn Elmore were separated by fewer than six seconds and came in in 25th and 26th place, respectively.  Right behind Ford and Elmore was teammate Emelia Keith in 27th place.

Tracy Ervin was 35th and Raquel Contreras 36th to round out the Indian Hills runners.

Indian Hills had 116 team points in a meet dominated by region champ Iowa Central.
