Colfax, WI – The lady Warriors were back in action Friday, September 31st as they competed at the Blugold Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Eau-Claire. The team finished 23rd overall and for the third straight meet, IHCC was lead up-front by sophomore Kaylee Ford. Ford finished the 6,000-meter race in 25 minutes and 59 seconds, good enough for a 125th place finish in a stout-field at White Tail Golf Course.

Rounding-out the scoring effort for the Lady Warriors included: sophomore Ashlyn Elmore in 26:20 (128th place), freshman Morgan Lawson in 27:28 (158th), freshman Halley Wilmes in 28:36 (163rd), and sophomore Traci Ervin in 30:38 (168th).

Coach Ewing said on the performance, "Our women showed a lot of toughness and consistency as they ran nearly the same times they did at Brissman-Lundeen. They trust their training, have put in some great work, and are starting to feel fit. I think they just need to believe in themselves, be willing to take some risks in the middle of the race, and be ready to mix-it-up late. We are going to see some big improvements as we drop back down to the 5,000-meter distance, as our women have raced 6,000-meters for the past three races."

The Women's cross country team will be off this weekend before heading to Mason City, Iowa for the Trent Smith Invitational hosted by North Iowa Area Community College on Friday, October 12th. Meet time is slated for 4:30 p.m. CST.
