Zebulon, N.C. -- Joel Booker, a former JUCO All-American for the Indian Hills Falcons, used a clutch performance to garner MVP honors at the Carolina League All-Star game Tuesday night.

Starting in left field and batting leadoff, Booker got the South on the scoreboard with a first-inning home run.  He drove in a run with a groundout in the fifth, then put his team ahead with a two-run single in the sixth.

Booker, a 22nd-round draft pick of the White Sox in 2016 after two years at both Indian Hills and the University of Iowa, is batting .297 for the Dash and hit .333 over his past 10 games.  He has 14 doubles, two triples and five homers with 14 stolen bases in his first full season in the Class A Advanced Carolina League.  He helped Winston-Salem to the first-half title in the Southern Division
