Indian Hills Ties for 9th at The Jackrabbit

Valentine, Nebraska -- Indian Hills, one of only two two-year schools in the 13-team field, finished in a tie for 9th place in The Jackrabbit, hosted by South Dakota State University and played at The Prairie Club.

The Warriors had rounds of 300, 295 and 299 over the par-72 course, ending up 30 strokes over par.

Freshman Harry Doig led the IHCC golfers with a 220 total, 4-over par and in a tie for 20th.  Doig's best round was a 1-under 71 in the opening round.  He had 13 birdies, tied for 4th-most, and played the par-5 holes at 4-under.

Following Doig for Indian Hills were Joe Hodgson, George Clarke, Maxime Leclerc and Jesse MacNaughton.  Hodson tied for 29th place with a 222 that included a par-72 in round two.  Clarke's best round, on the way to a tie for 36th, was a final-round 73.  He recorded  33 pars.  Leclerc had 34 pars and shot 227, ending up in a tie for 39th.  And MacNaughton tied for 42nd place with his 229 total.

Hodgson was 1-under on the par-3 holes and Clarke played them in even par.

Kansas won the team title by 14 shots over UCF and the Jayhawks had the medalist in Harry Hillier, whose 11-under par 205 included three straight under-par rounds.  Hutchinson (Kans.) was the only other two-year school that participated and they finished right behind Indian Hills, but was 18 strokes behind the Warriors.

Indian Hills will take part in the District Preview in Council Bluffs Oct. 8-9 to wrap up their fall schedule.
