After being named the head golf coach at Indian Hills in August 2018, John Mulholland led IHCC to a runnerup finish at the 2019 NJCAA National Championship in his first season at the helm.  Mulholland came to Indian Hills from Jacksonville State University (Ala.) where he assisted both the men's and women's teams.

The Warriors won two of the four tournaments they entered in Mulholland's initial season as coach in the fall of 2018 and then captured the title in three more events in the spring.  They held the lead going into the final round of the national tourney before finishing second behind Central Alabama.

Under Mulholland's guidance, Indian Hills took the team title at their own Warrior Challenge at the Preserve at Honey Creek and the District Preview last fall, and followed with first-place finishes at the Tyler Junior College Invitational, the Beu Mussatto Invitational and the District III Championship in the spring.

Indian Hills placed George Clarke, Harry Doig and Max Leclerc on the PING All-District Team for 2019 and Clarke and Doig were semifinalists for the Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year Award.  Clarke, Joe Hodgson, Jesse MacNaughtan and Doig all earned All-American honors by finishing in the top 18 of the NJCAA DI Championship.

While at Jacksonville State, Mulholland helped coach five players to individual victories and assisted the men's program in winning the 2018 Ohio Valley Conference Championship, which advanced the Gamecocks to play in the NCAA Florida Regional Championship.

Before arriving at JSU, Mulholland coached at West Texas A&M, where he spent four seasons as the men's volunteer assistant coach, beginning in the 2013-14 academic year.  While at West Texas A&M, Mulholland coached two first team All-Lone Star Conference performers as well as a Co-Academic Player of the Year, a LSC Freshman of the Year, an Elite 90 Award winner, and one Division II PING All-South Central Region player.  He also helped lead the 2014-15 team to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA DII West/South Central Regional, which led to a 17th-place finish in the first NCAA Division II National Championship appearance in school history.

Mulholland and his wife, Patricia Lee, were married in Dallas in February 2017.  The Melbourne, Australia, native earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Exercise Science from West Texas A&M University in 2015, and completed his Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Business, Professional Development & Communications).
