McNeal Named to NJCAA All-American Squad

Ottumwa -- Sophomore point guard Chris McNeal capped his only season at Indian Hills by being named an NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American. McNeal was one of the captains of a 29-5 record IHCC team that won the Region XI regular season and postseason championships, won a district title game on the road, and qualified for the national tournament.

He led the Warriors in scoring average at 13.1 points a game, and also paced the team in field goals (135), field goal attempts (327), 3-pointers (83), 3-point attempts (222), free throws (94), assists (179), and points (447) while playing in all 34 games while starting 33 of them. The 83 3-pointers McNeal connected on is the 6th-highest single-season total in IHCC history.

McNeal, a native of Jackson, Tennessee who played his freshman season at Western Kentucky, is the 25th basketball All-American at Indian Hills. It's the 6th straight year the Warriors have had at least one All-American. After one year at IHCC, Nuni Omot was selected to the NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention list last year and played this past season at Baylor.
