Ottumwa -- Eight members of the Indian Hills national tournament basketball team qualified for the Spring Academic All-Region teams announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
To be eligible for the honor teams, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of between 3.5 and 4.0 for first-team recognition, and a grade point average of between 3.0 and 3.49 for the second team.
All eight of the Warriors were on the academic all-region second team. They include a pair of redshirt freshmen -- Brady Ernst and Brandon Hutton -- true freshmen Jamel Allen, Javier Valeiras, and Richardson Maitre, and sophomores Karl Harris, Kenny Wormley, and Ricky Gouety.
In all, Indian Hills had 82 student-athletes whose teams played during the spring term named to the academic all-region teams.
