Late Medeiros Goal Downs Reivers

IW

Council Bluffs, Iowa -- IHCC freshman David Medeiros booted a low shot past Iowa Western goalkeeper Daniel Bermingham with time running out in the second half, allowing Indian Hills to pull off a 2-1 road victory against the Reivers on Wednesday afternoon.  Medeiros' goal was his 6th of the season, with all six coming in the last four matches.

Indian Hills got a standout effort in goal from Alan Roman, making his first start of the season.  He had four saves and gave up only a first-half goal by the Reivers' Vicente Gallardo.    That was the lone goal of the opening period.

Gustavo Barroso of Indian Hills got the tying goal in the 57th minute off an assist from Medeiros, who then notched the game-winner just over 30 minutes later.

Indian Hills outshot Iowa Western, 16-7, and stopped a two-game losing streak with the win.  The Warriors will face off against NIACC in a conference contest on Saturday afternoon at the IHCC field at 4:00.
