Ottumwa -- Indian Hills had six players named to the Region XI Men's Soccer All-Region teams announced this week.
Freshmen David Medeiros and Sacha Vandersteene were first-team picks; a pair of freshmen, Gustavo Barroso and Joao Vito, made the second team; and sophomore Dylan Moore and freshman Charles Vittini were honorable mention selections.
Medeiros, a midfielder, led the Warriors with his 12 goals and 14 assists for 38 points. He scored 11 goals on 32 shots in conference play, where he had a dozen of his 14 assists for the season. Vandersteene had three goals, two of them in a win over Dakota County.
Barroso netted six goals and the midfielder added five assists for 17 points, second on the team behind Medeiros. Vito had a strong season as a defender, helping the Warriors hold their opponents to just 24 goals in 16 matches.
Moore had two goals for the year and both were game-winners. The midfielder had the deciding scores against Southeastern and NIACC. Vittini, a defender, also played a key role in the IHCC defense and had five assists.
