IHCC Blanked by Heartland

Heartland

Ottumwa -- Heartland (Ill.) CC used an early goal and another in the second half along with a tough defense to take down Indian Hills, 2-0, in men's soccer action at the IHCC field on Saturday.

Iram Baylon scored just two minues into the match to give the visitors an early advantage and Daniel Duran knocked in an insurance goal in the 70th minute.

Meanwhile, the Warriors couldn't get a ball past the Heartland keeper in suffering their first loss of the year.

Alan Roman had eight saves for Indian Hills, which had seven shots on goal.

IHCC is now 3-1-1 and has two games scheduled in Illinois this weekend: at Illinois Central on Friday and John Wood on Sunday.
