Ottumwa -- Indian Hills will have competitors in nine different events in the NJCAA National Championships at Liberty University in Virginia this week.  The IHCC athletes qualified for the nationals with superb performances in the indoor season that began back in December.

The list of qualifiers includes: Elijah Berry in the 400, 600 and 800 meters; Kohner Butts in the 600 and 800; Micah Reed, also in the 600 and 800; Aytonn Bar-Shimon in the 800; Floyd Pond in the 60 meter dash; Tyler Dunigan, also in the 60; Tracy Gates in the triple jump; Kendall Banks-Price in the high jump; Chris Hudnall in the 60 meter hurdles; and the 4x800 and 4x400 relay teams.

Indian Hills heads into the national meet on the heels of a strong performance in the Region XI meet last month.  After that meet, the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference released its All-Region team.  Based on the results of their performances in the region event, Indian Hills had first-team All-Region selections in Elijah Berry, Tracy Gates and its 4x800 relay unit of Micah Reed, Berry, Aytonn Bar-Shimon and Kohner Butts.  Second-team All-Region picks were Butts, Chris Hudnall, Kendall Banks-Price and the 4x400 relay squad of Butts, Torian Kingston, Nathan Simons and Berry.  Honorable mention went to Tyler Dunigan and Jaxson Sharp.
