Oskaloosa -- Jason Herr, an Indian Hills sophomore from Oskaloosa, won the state championship in the collegiate division in the Iowa SCTP State Sporting Clays Championship this past weekend at the Mahaska County Izaak Walton League. 

Six Indian Hills shooters competed in the two-day event, shooting 100 targets each day.  Herr's 169 total was the best score in the collegiate division, beating the second-place shooter by five targets.  IHCC's Harley Saulmon fired a 126, Caleb Langgin a 121 and John Williams a 120. 

The Indian Hills sports shooting squad returns to action this weekend at the Iowa SCTP State Skeet Shooting Championships at the New Pioneer Gun Club in Waukee.
