Centerville -- The Indian Hills sports shooting squad swept the men's and ladies podium and won the team battle, defeating Northeast CC, 475-349, on Saturday.

Sophomores Harley Saulmon and Shayla Rotenburger were the individual champs, both tying for the high overall score by breaking 96-of-100 targets.  After Saulmon was sophomore Cole Becker with a 95, and there was a third-place tie with freshmen Drew Appleget and Ryan Beitz both getting 94s.  Those two will have a shootoff for the medal at practice this week, according to coach Jake Stalzer.

Second place on the ladies side went to Mikayla McCarty with an 86 and freshman Sydney Goemaat fired an 82 for third.

"I'm proud of every one of our athletes," said Stalzer.  "Everyone put up a solid score and it was a fun day at the range!"  Stalzer also thanked the IHCC volleyball squad for their help with the scoring for the competition.

The IHCC team will be back in action this Saturday when they take on Iowa Lakes in a conference non-divisional shoot at the Stockdale Gun Club in Ackley starting at 11 a.m.
