WARRIORS ADVANCE IN CLAY TARGET CRAZINESS TOURNAMENT

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Shotgun Sports squad advanced in the inaugural Clay Target Craziness tournament with a 469-424 trap dual team victory over Iowa Lakes Community College at the Ottumwa Izaak Walton League on Wednesday.

With the win, the Warriors, seeded No. 2 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) East Division, will travel to take on Iowa Western Community College, the top seed in the West Division on Friday afternoon with a time to be determined at the Harry A. Koch Trap & Skeet club. As a team, the Warriors produced five of the top six marks on the day to eliminate the Lakers from the Clay Target Craziness Tournament.

The Warriors were led by sophomore Aidan Eischen (New Sharon, IA/North Mahaska) who connected on 95/100 targets. Eischen has now posted four rounds of 95 or better on than year Fellow sophomore Zane Kirubakaran (Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa) tallied 94 birds on the day, the third-highest mark of the day. Sophomore Devan Renard (Knoxville, IA/Knoxville) tallied a 94, one of his season-high. Sophomores Emma Bradley (Albia, IA/Albia) and Haley Byrge (Chilton, WI/Chilton) each connected on 93 targets for the top female marks of the day. Bradley's 93 was a season-best performance while Byrge collected her third-consecutive 90-plus target effort.

Along with Indian Hills and Iowa Western competing, Hawkeye Community College and Iowa Central Community College will compete on the league's other semifinal round on Friday. The two semifinal winners will advance to Saturday's championship dual to determine the ICCAC regular season conference championship.

Saturday's shoot will also be a part of the ICCAC/SCTP State Championship where postseason champions will be determined for trap, skeet, and sporting clays at the New Pioneer Gun Club in Waukee, IA.
