IHCC Divides Two with BV

West Des Moines, Iowa -- A pair of home runs by Shyanne DuBois and stellar pitching from Olivia Goodale allowed Indian Hills to claim the first game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Buena Vista junior varsity. 2-1. The Beavers used a six-run inning to break a scoreless tie and earn a split by winning game two, 8-0, in five innings.

DuBois slammed solo homers in the 3rd and 5th innings of the opener and that was enough for the win as Goodale allowed only five hits and one run in picking up the victory. She didn't walk anyone and struck out three. The Warriors had only three other hits -- by Taylor Takushi, Sierra Walton and Kelsey Carder.

Game two saw BV hit three homers as part of a six-run 4th in knocking out IHCC starter Marissa Promes. Indian Hills was limited to three singles, from DuBois, Courtnee Hahn and Lexi Smith, in the loss.

Next up for Indian Hills is a trip to Georgia for the NFCA Leadoff Classic next weekend.
