In Return to Action, IHCC Wins Two

Ottumwa -- Idle for the past 11 days and seeing their first action of the spring on their home field, Indian Hills made the most of their doubleheader with DMACC, posting a pair of comeback victories. IHCC pushed across four runs in the bottom of the 7th to walk-off the Bears, 8-7, in game one, then spotted the visitors a 3-0 lead in the second game, before roaring back to win 5-3.

DMACC poured across five runs in the 4th inning and opened up a 7-0 lead midway through game one. The Warriors started their comeback with three runs in the 5th, added one more in the 6th, and then completed the rally in the final frame. Indian Hills pounded out 14 hits. Sierra Walton and Keagan Helson had three hits apiece and Erin Kuba, Kassidi Henderson and Courtnee Hahn each collected two. Helson slammed a home run.

The Bears scored three runs in the 1st inning of the next game, but was blanked after that by Tayah Hayes and Olivia Goodale. IHCC got even with a three-run 4th and won it with two more runs in the 5th. Helson had two hits and Walton and Henderson homered, Henderson's a two-run shot. Goodale hurled three shutout innings in relief and was the winner.
