Ottumwa -- Indian Hills set the tone in each game with a first-inning home run and dumped the Simpson College JV in a doubleheader on Tuesday, beating the Storm, 9-1 and 11-0.

It was Shyanne DuBois who got things going in game one with a one-out blast to left field. The Warriors added on with a five-run 2nd inning that featured back-to-back-to-back doubles by Kassidi Henderson, Kelsey Carder and Courtnee Hahn. IHCC plated a run in the 3rd and two more in the 4th. Amber Hall had a couple of hits in the Warriors' blowout victory. Marissa Promes went the first three innings in the circle and Tayah Hayes finished up.

Taylor Takushi started the second-game fireworks with a leadoff homer in the 1st. Indian Hills enjoyed another huge 2nd inning, scoring seven times. Six of those runs came on a pair of 3-run home runs, by DuBois and Henderson. Pitchers Olivia Goodale and Abby Straight combined to blank Simpson as the Warriors upped their season record to 21-9.
