Ottumwa -- Sixteen members of the Indian Hills softball team qualified for Academic All-Region honors from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference this spring.

Abby Straight, Alexis Vroegh, Cheyanne Bergert, Erin Kuba, Jaylie Reints, Katelyn Banning, Olivia Goodale, Taylor DuBois and Taylor Takushi were on the academic first team; Alexis Westercamp, Aubrey Miller, Carlyn Stanley, Helaina Johnson, Taylor Jones, Tia Kohl and Vanessa Bakley were second-team selections.

The academic first team is made up of those student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.5 to 4.0.  A grade point average of 3.0 to 3.49 puts a player on the second team.

In all, Indian Hills had 81 student-athletes in seven different sports on the Academic All-Region squads for the spring term.
