Ottumwa -- Chariton native Kylie Bengtson is the newest addition to the IHCC softball program, joining head coachLindsay Diehl in an all-new staff.  Bengtson served as a softball student manager for four years at one of the top programs in the country, the University of Alabama.  She got an opportunity to help in all aspects of that program where the head coach is a former Iowa high school baseball coach, Patrick Murphy. 

Bengtson earned her bachelor's degree in physical education from Alabama, then came back to Iowa to teach physical education at St. Anthony Catholic School in Des Moines while helping coach the Dowling Catholic High School softball squad for two years.  While in college she also served as an assistant coach for junior high and senior high softball in Chariton.
