Kurtt Hat Trick Helps Defeat Hawkeye

Kurtt

Ottumwa -- Miranda Kurtt scored three times and Indian Hills picked up its 13th win, dumping Hawkeye CC, 7-2, at the IHCC field on Wednesday afternoon.

It was the first career hat trick at IHCC for Kurtt and gives her nine goals for the season.  She tallied once in the first half -- the Warriors' second goal of the day -- and opened the second half scoring before getting goal No. 3 in the 82nd minute.

Madison L. Meyer began the scoring for IHCC with a header in the 6th minute.  Kiri Chiba's pass led to Meyer's 10th score of the year.  After Kurtt scored on a header off a free kick from Julie Gouilliart, Yui Okamoto notched her 3rd goal with Gouilliart getting another assist.

Kurtt scored into an open net after a scramble in the box in the 61st minute to make it 4-1.  Emily Murphy added to her team-leading total with her 28th goal on a cross from Kurtt, Gouilliart provided an unassisted goal and Kurtt clinched the latest win with her third score.

Elani Mears had three saves in goal for Indian Hills, now 13-1-1.  The 13 wins ties last year's total, and is the second-highest number in program history, trailing the 16 wins in 2016, coach Anthony Longo's first year at the helm.  Longo has led IHCC to 54 wins in his four years.

Indian Hills ends the regular season with a Sophomore Day contest against Northeast (Neb.) on Saturday on the IHCC pitch.
