Jack Jennett

Cedar Falls, Iowa -- A school record in the long jump by Kylar Brown and 400 meter times from Brown and I'Reoina Lightsey that were among the top five ever at IHCC highlighted the Indian Hills women's trip to the Jack Jennett Invite.

Brown broke the record she had set earlier in the indoor season by jumping 16'-7.25" meters in the long jump for a new school standard, finishing 5th in a strong field.

Lightsey's time of 1:01.58 in the 400 meters was the third fastest all-time for Indian Hills, while Brown finished in 1:02.60, the fourth fastest time ever for IHCC.

Jocelynn Crowell was third in the 200 meters in 26.08 and her teammates Melanie Hall (26.86), Destiny Lottie (26.89) and Lightsey (27.05) came in 9-10-11.

Ceyda Nazli (1:46.29) and Shiggo Shadin (1:46.33) ran their fastest 600 meter times of the indoor season, putting them fourth and fifth all-time.

Lottie's 8.04 in the 60 meters was a personal best.

Abby Ellison dropped two seconds in her 400 meters, running 1:06.77.

Haley Revell had her second farthest throw of the season in the shot put, 36'-5.75".

Morgan Lawson's time of 11:33.53 in the 3000 meters was the fastest of her career.

Also, Dasauna Combs (27.62), Ashley Miller (28.20) and Ellison (29.25) ran in the 200 meters, and Hall (1:03.38), Crowell (1:04.39), Combs (1:06.30) and Miller (1:07.02) all competed in the 400 meters.

Indian Hills coach Brent Ewing was happy with how well the women competed, saying "Jocelynn Crowell ran a very aggressive 200 meters and I'Reoina Lightsey ran season bests in the 200 and 400.  Both Jocelynn and Ira had a great week of practice leading up to the meet so I'm not surprised by how well they ran.  Kylar Brown has consistently been there for us every meet so far this year.  Her progress in the long jump has been profound.  Destiny Lottie, Shiggo Shadin and Ceyda Nazli have been improving a lot over these past few weeks as well.  Our women are building a lot of momentum right now.  They're young and gaining a lot of confidence."

The Warriors will take part in the Mark Schuck Multi at Minnesota State Mankato this weekend.
