MSWP

Ottumwa -- Indian Hills had visiting Missouri State-West Plains down two sets-to-one, but couldn't close out the match in a close 4th set and lost 3-2 to the Grizzlies at the Hellyer Center Monday night.

After dropping the opening set, 26-24, the Warriors took the next two, 25-21 and 25-22, with Mariana Rodrigues drilling the set-winner in each.  But MS-WP claimed the next set by the same 26-24 margin they won set one, then scored the first three points of the final set and went on to win, 15-9.

Cecilia Campos sparked the Warriors with a team-best 22 kills and four ace serves.  Rodrigues provided 18 kills and 14 digs, one of four IHCC players to get double figures in digs.  Suzana Andrade and Amanda Toyota led IHCC with 17 digs apiece and Yasmin Assis had 11 to go along with 56 assists.  Natalia Araujo had three aces and Brooke Johnson-Watkins was in on eight blocks for IHCC.

The Warriors will see the Grizzlies again this weekend when they take part in MS-WP's tourney.  Indian Hills has four matches in two days, capped by a return engagement with Missouri State-West Plains on Saturday.  IHCC will also battle Texas teams Tyler and Panola, both ranked in the top-13 in the nation.
