Carly Wehling has returned to Indian Hills, where she was an all-region volleyball player, to be an assistant coach in the IHCC program.  Wehling comes back to Ottumwa after a three-year stint as an assistant coach at Montana State University Billings, where she was an assistant under a former college teammate.  At MSUB her duties included coordinating recruiting, running individual offensive sessions, directing summer camps and managing academic support.  She coached four all-conference players in Montana.

Wehling's coaching experience also includes a year as a graduate assistant at Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa, a season as the head coach at Southern Academy in Greensboro, Alabama and coaching club volleyball teams in Alabama and Montana.

Her playing career ended with two years at the University of West Alabama where she was a team captain as a senior.  That season Wehling moved from outside hitter to become the team's primary setter.  She was sixth in the Gulf South Conference in assists, led the conference in service aces and was named to the all-conference first team.

A two-year starter at Indian Hills prior to going to West Alabama, Wehling captained the 2011 IHCC squad, was a first-team all-region selection as a sophomore, earned academic all-region honors as a freshman and sophomore and was inducted into the IHCC Academy.  In the Indian Hills record books, she is 4th in single-season service aces with 76 and 3rd all-time with 134.

A native of Readlyn, Iowa and a graduate of Wapsie Valley High School, Wehling has her associates degree from Indian Hills, earned a bachelors degree in physical education with a minor in business administration from West Alabama, and completed her masters degree in organizational leadership from Waldorf.
