Lawson Leads Warriors to 4th Place Finish at Region XI Time Trial

Bettendorf, IA -- The Indian Hills women's cross country team began their 2018 season with the Region XI Time Trial Saturday, August 25 at Crow Creek Park, hosted by Scott Community College. 

The women's team placed fourth overall, led by freshman Morgan Lawson in 18th. Right behind Lawson was a slew of Warrior women. Sophomores Ashlyn Elmore and Kaylee Ford took 21st and 22nd, respectively, while freshman Halley Wilmes crossed the line in 24th in her first- ever cross country meet. Traci Ervin rounded out the top 5, in 26th place. Morgan McKinney-McGill was the sixth Warrior to cross the line in 30th.

Next up, the Warriors will travel to Grinnell to compete in the 57th Les Duke Invitational on Saturday. September 8. The 2017 squad finished 6th out of 12 teams over the 6,000m course at last year's Les Duke Invite.
