Lawson Leads IHCC at Brissman-Lundeen

Brissman-Lundeen

Rock Island, Illinois -- Indian Hills sent four runners to the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational on Friday and Haley Wilmes came home with a personal-best time for the Warriors.

Coach Brent Ewing was pleased with the spread among his top three runners over the 6K course at the Saukie Golf Course.  It's the first and only time this fall the Warriors will run at that distance.

Morgan Lawson had the fastest time for IHCC, running the 6K in 26:32.5.  Haley Wilmes ran 75 seconds faster than she did at the same event in the 2018 edition of the race and her time of 27:03.5 was a personal best.  Wilmes ran an almost identical time as teammate Shiggo Shadin, who finished in 27:03.0.  Rounding out the Indian Hills competitors was Ceyda Nazli, who finished in 28:22.3.

The IHCC women will run their final regular season race next Friday, the Trent Smith Invite in Mason City hosted by NIACC.  The Region XI Championships will be at the end of the month and Indian Hills will host.
