Warriors Place 3 in Top 26 at Region Meet

Region XI

Ottumwa -- Every one of the IHCC women who ran set a personal best as Indian Hills hosted the Region XI Championship Meet at the Cedar Creek Golf Course on Friday.  The 5K course was the same one where the fall season began -- at the Region XI Time Trials in August.

Leading the IHCC runners was Halley Wilmes, who grabbed 21st place with her time of 21:14.  Next was Morgan Lawson with her clocking of 21:28, good for 24th place.  Shiggo Shadin also ran under 22 minutes, finishing in 21:46 and in 26th place.  Ceyda Nazli ran 22:50 and came in 32nd.

Wilmes and Lawson each garnered honorable mention All Region honors and they joined Shadin and Nazli in running their best times of the fall.

"This was a great way for the women to end their second year in the program," said IHCC head coach Brent Ewing.  "Running their personal bests is always one of our goals this time of year and they did that!  They improved drastically in cross country this fall.  I think they've set themselves up to have great track seasons."
