MACK NAMED OFFICIAL THERAPY DOG OF IHCC

Ottumwa, IA – The Indian Hills Athletic Department has announced the addition of Mack Mayson as the school's official Therapy Dog. Mack will begin his tenure with the Warriors on Monday, Sept. 26.

Mack is registered with Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD), an international registry of certified therapy dog teams. ATD provides testing, certification, registration, support, and insurance for members who volunteer with dogs to visit hospitals, special needs center, schools, nursing homes, and other facilities.

"We are excited to have Mack join our Sports Medicine team," stated head Athletic Trainer Kristin Mayson. "We have been dreaming about bringing a therapy dog on board for several years now. We are excited to bring him to our student-athletes to help them de-stress after a tough day, practice, or some hard news about an injury. It's hard to be sad when you're petting a dog!"

A native of Ottumwa, Mack is an eight-year old Golden Doodle. Mack will spend a majority of his time on campus alongside student-athletes in the Athletic Training Room providing support and a welcoming face to the department.
