Deb was a standout in the early years of the Indian Hills softball program and was named the college's first-ever first-team softball All-American following her sophomore campaign.  As a freshman, the Keota, Iowa native hit .463 and was named first-team All-Region and Honorable Mention All-American.  During her sophomore season, Deb hit .424 and was named first team All-Region, first-team All-American, and the Region XI Most Outstanding Offensive Player while leading the Warriors to an eighth-place finish at the National Tournament.  That year she was also the Warriors' MVP and given the In the Clutch Award.  Following her career at Indian Hills, Deb went to the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) where she was twice selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American squad.  She is still the school's all-time career leader in batting average (.450) and on-base percentage (.499) and ranks second in slugging percentage (.733), and she also is among the top three in eight different single-season offensive categories at UNO.
