IHCC CHEER SET FOR GAMEDAY NATIONALS

Orlando, FL – The Indian Hills Competitive Cheer & Dance squad is set to compete at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Gameday Nationals at the Disney World Resort on Saturday.

The Warriors will take the mat at 4:38 PM in the semifinals of the Small College Coed Division Saturday. Indian Hills is one of 24 programs competing in the division and are one of just five junior colleges at the event.

"Our warmup practice on Thursday went great," stated head coach Cyndi Mellin. "The athletes handled the experience with incredible poise. It is quite overwhelming to be competing against four-year schools. We are in a huge division and only three are junior colleges. This year is definitely a learning experience to prepare for future years."

Saturday marks the first time the Warrior program has ever competed at the UCA Gameday Nationals event. The Warriors took home the 2022 Small College Co-Ed Intermediate National Championship at the Cheer Ltd. Nationals at CANAM.

"We have talked extensively about the scoring and what the judges are looking for, but we will know more once we receive our feedback sheets," Mellin added. "Regardless of how we rank this year, it is super exciting to be the first team to ever represent Indian Hills on the UCA Nationals stage."
