GLAUDAS NAMED SWINGU GOLFER OF THE MONTH

Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Gaspar Glaudas (Sainte Tulle, France/Shattuck St-Mary's) of the Indian Hills Men's Golf team has been named the April 2023 SwingU National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Golf Player of the Month, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA) on Thursday.

Glaudas boasted an impressive month for the Warriors with three solid performances. Glaudas, who earned two Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors in April, took home top honors at the Bethany College Classic and tied for fourth at both the Prairie Dunes Collegiate and the NJCAA Central District Championship.

Glaudas opened up the month at the prestigious Prairie Dunes Golf Course April 3-4 with a fourth-place finish as the Warriors captured the team title. Glaudas posted a 1-over 141 after firing an opening round 69.

The freshman followed up a week later at the Bethany College Classic at Sand Creek Station Golf Course, home to the upcoming NJCAA DI Men's Golf National Championship, with his second career individual title. Glaudas' top honor powered the Warriors to the team's second consecutive team title. Glaudas fired a tournament-best 7-under 137, including an opening round 67 to go along with a team-high nine birdies.

Glaudas capped the month of April with a fourth-place showing at the NJCAA Central District Championship to lead the Warriors to a runner-up finish and an automatic berth in the national tournament in Newton, KS. Glaudas shot a 3-over 219 with an opening round 70 leading the way.

On the year, Glaudas has posted five top-five finishes, including the two medalist honors. Glaudas has tallied a 72.4 average on the year.

Glaudas and the Warriors will now head to the NJCAA DI Men's Golf National Championship at Sand Creek Station in Newton, KS May 16-19.
