GLAUDAS LANDS TRIO OF NATIONAL HONORS

Ottumwa, IA – Freshman Gaspar Glaudas (Sainte Tulle, France/Shattuck St-Mary's) of the Indian Hills Men's Golf Team earned a trio of awards from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Monday afternoon. Glaudas and the Warriors are set to open play at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men's Golf National Championship on Tuesday.

The GCAA named Glaudas to the 2023 NJCAA DI PING Honorable Mention All-American team as well as a spot on the 2023 NJCAA DI All-Central District Team. Glaudas was also one of five individuals named to the 2023 NJCAA DI Men's Golf All-Freshman team.

Glaudas recorded an exceptional freshman campaign on the links for the Warriors. Glaudas captured two individual titles, winning the Bent Tree Intercollegiate in September and the Bethany College Classic in April. Glaudas posted five top-five finishes on the year, including a fourth-place finish at the NJCAA Central District Championship April 24-25.

Glaudas boasted an average round score of 72.4 on the year, finishing three tournaments below par while also recording five rounds below 70, including three season-best rounds of 67.

Glaudas becomes the 10th Indian Hills Men's Golfer to earn GCAA All-Freshman team honors dating back to the 2012 season, and second consecutive joining Frank Vucic from a year ago. Glaudas also becomes the 25th PING All-American over the last 12 seasons and the 41st All-District selection during the same stretch.

Glaudas was joined on the 2023 All-Freshman team with Travis Robbie of New Mexico Junior College, Adam Vermut of Eastern Florida State College, and Thomas Vestergaard of Midland College (TX) along with the NJCAA DI Phil Mickelson Outstanding Freshman Award winner Alex Lindstrom of Hutchinson Community College (KS).

Along with the national honors, Glaudas was also a three-time recipient of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Golfer of the Week award and was selected as the April SwingU GCAA NJCAA DI Men's Golfer of the Month.

Glaudas and the Warriors tee off after the noon hour on Tuesday for the opening round of the NJCAA DI Men's Golf National Championships at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, KS.
