GLAUDAS WINS THIRD EVENT TO LEAD WARRIORS

Elkhorn, NE – Gaspar Glaudas (Sainte Tulle, France/Shattuck St-Mary's) took home top honors at The Big O Classic after an impressive two-day performance that saw the sophomore win by five strokes. As a team, the Warriors tied for third place overall with a 17-over 881 at the Indian Creek Golf Course.

Glaudas captured his third-career victory, and first of the 2023 season after firing a 6-under 210. Glaudas used bookend rounds of 4-under 68, paired with a second round score of 74 to close out the 54-hole event five strokes ahead of Creighton's Grant Feldman. The 210 is the second-lowest 54-hole score in Glaudas' career for the Warriors, a two-year span that covers 14 events.

"Gaspar has been knocking on the door for another win this fall and has played great," stated head coach Michael Wetrich. "Good to see him finish off this Division I victory."

The Warriors tied for third overall with the University of North Dakota after posting round scores of 296-299-286. Indian Hills climbed four spots on the final day of action as the team's 286 tied for the lowest round of the tournament with Lindenwood University's third round performance.

"Very proud of how the guys fought back today in tough, windy, wet conditions," Wetrich added. "Great to see that from a young group."

Along with Glaudas' performance, Jose Carletta (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Rioclaro) tied for 23rd overall with a 7-over 223 with bookend rounds of 73 for the Warriors. Emilio Arellano Lamas (Aguascalientes, Mexico/Instituto Universitario Mexico) closed out the week with a 1-under 71 to tie for 31st overall. Jose Miguel Ramirez (Maturin, Venezuela/Alejandro De Humboldt) joined Carletta as five individuals tied for 31st.

Freshman Maximilian Morgenstern (Ermatingen, Switzerland/Gymnasium Schloss Gaienhofen) battled the conditions on the final day to climb nine spots to help the Warriors rise up on the leaderboard.

The Warriors tied for second overall with 41 birdies throughout the three rounds while Glaudas tied for second overall with 13 birdies. Ramirez added nine birdies followed by eight apiece from Carletta and Arellano.

Indian Hills was joined by fellow junior college programs Hutchinson Community College and Dodge City Community College in the event. Hutchinson, ranked No. 5 in the preseason national rankings, placed eighth overall followed by Dodge City, ranked eight in the national poll, in 12th place overall.

The University of Omaha took home the team title, narrowly edging the Warriors with a 14-over 878.
