WARRIORS, GLAUDAS SURGE IN NEBRASKA

Homer, NE – Top-ranked Indian Hills Men's Golf made a strong push on the final day of the Throw Down 'Up Top' Tournament at the Landmand Golf Club to place third overall with an even-par 876.

The Warriors were once again led by sophomore Gaspar Glaudas (Sainte Tulle, France/Shattuck St-Mary's) who powered his way through the field on the final day with a tournament-best 7-under 66 in the third round. Glaudas, the back-to-back Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) DI Men's Golf Athlete of the Week, finished the two-day event with a 6-under 213 on the Par 73 course.

As a team, the Warriors finished third among the eight teams in action. Indian Hills opened the tournament on Tuesday with an 8-over 300 before finding its rhythm in round two with an 8-under 284, the third-lowest team round of the week. Indian Hills closed out the tournament after battling the weather elements with an even-par 292 in the final 18.

Fellow sophomore Shinju Aoki (Auckland, New Zealand/Rosmini College) took 11th overall in the tournament with one of his strongest showings of the fall season. Aoki posted a 2-over 221 after an impressive round of 72 over the final 18 holes.

Freshman Jose Carletta (Barquisimeto, Venezuela/Rioclaro) and Matias Koropeski each posted a 4-over 223 to tie for 16th overall while Emilio Arellano Lamas (Aguascalientes, Mexico/Instituto Universitario Mexico) checked in with a 5-over 224 to place 23rd. Jose Miguel Ramirez (Maturin, Venezuela/Alejandro De Humboldt) placed 27th overall with a 6-over 225 and Maximilian Morgenstern (Ermatingen, Switzerland/Gymnasium Schloss Gaienhofen) capped the team scoring in 41st place.

Glaudas used five birdies and an eagle over the final round to soar eight spots on the leaderboard. The sophomore All-American was the lone golfer among the 59-player field to shoot sub-par on Par 3 holes, finishing 2-under. Glaudas posted 11 birdies in total to collect his third consecutive top-five tournament finish. Of Glaudas' 11 rounds this fall season, the sophomore has posted four rounds with a round of 68 or better.

Aoki, playing unattached, saw seven of his 14 birdies come in the final round. The 14 birdies were tied for the third-most in the tournament.

Indian Hills will now turn its attention to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Preview in Hobbs, NM October 23-24. The event serves as the precursor to the NJCAA DI Men's Golf National Championship May 14-17 at the Rockwind Community Golf Course.
